  • 1 cup Milo powder
  • 1 large Chocolate cake or sponge cake Prepared according to package instructions
  • 2 cups Vanilla custard
  • 2 cups Whipped cream Whipped until fluffy
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate shavings or grated chocolate For topping
  • 1 cup Milk Optional for moistening cake layers

Preparation

  • Prepare the chocolate cake or sponge cake according to package instructions and let it cool.
  • In a trifle bowl, layer pieces of cake at the bottom.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of Milo powder over the cake.
  • Pour a layer of vanilla custard over the Milo.
  • Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the custard.
  • Repeat the layers until the bowl is full, finishing with a layer of whipped cream.
  • Top with chocolate shavings or grated chocolate.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, you can drizzle some chocolate sauce between the layers. Make sure the cake is completely cooled before layering to prevent the custard from melting. Use a clear bowl to show off the beautiful layers of the trifle.
