  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup limoncello
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled Use freshly brewed for best flavor.
  • 24 pieces ladyfinger cookies
  • 1 piece Zest of lemon For garnish.
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Preparation

  • In a bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the limoncello and cooled espresso.
  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the limoncello-espresso mixture and layer them at the bottom of a serving dish.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  • Repeat the layers with dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle lemon zest.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Best eaten within 2-3 days, but can last up to a week. Don't soak the ladyfingers for too long; a quick dip will do. Feel free to adjust the limoncello amount to your taste.
