  • 1 pound ground beef You can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni Any small pasta shape can be used.
  • 2 cups beef broth Can be substituted with water or vegetable broth.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Canned or fresh diced tomatoes work.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Use your favorite cheese for melting.
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • to taste none Salt and pepper

Cooking

  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Brown the ground beef until fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the beef broth, diced tomatoes, elbow macaroni, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  • Once cooking is complete, quickly release the pressure.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding chopped onions or bell peppers when sautéing the ground beef. If you want a bit of spice, add crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce. Mix in frozen peas or corn for added nutrition and color. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for later use.
