Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 4 tablespoons butter (divided) Two tablespoons for cooking shrimp and two for sautéing garlic.
  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper Adjust based on heat preference.
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced) Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped parsley For garnish.

Cooking Pasta and Shrimp

  • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain well and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt two tablespoons of butter.
  • Add shrimp, salt, and crushed red pepper, and cook while stirring occasionally until the shrimp are opaque pink (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and garlic. Cook until fragrant, about one minute.
  • Turn off the heat, then add lemon juice, pasta water, and parmesan cheese. Stir to combine.

Combining and Serving

  • Transfer the spaghetti to the skillet and toss with the sauce. Add the cooked shrimp on top and garnish with parsley.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

For a delightful dining experience, serve with extra chopped parsley or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Pair with a simple side salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
