For the scones

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt To taste
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed Must be cold for best fluffiness
  • 1/2 cup milk Can use almond milk or oat milk as substitutes
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional) Adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) For added flavor

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined. Be gentle!
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for just a minute.
  • Pat into a round shape about 1 inch thick, then cut into wedges or circles.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  • Place the scones in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t touching.
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Best served warm with butter or jam. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage. Consider adding chocolate chips or dried fruit for variations.
