Ingredients
  

For the Trifle

  • 1 pound pound cake (prepared)
  • 2 cups custard Store-bought custard works perfectly.
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) Use fresh, ripe berries for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice For a non-alcoholic option, use fruit juice.
  • to taste Chocolate shavings or nuts for garnish

Instructions
 

Assembly

  • Cut the pound cake into cubes.
  • In a large trifle dish, layer half of the pound cake cubes.
  • Drizzle half of the sherry or fruit juice over the cake.
  • Add half of the custard on top of the cake layer.
  • Add a layer of mixed berries, followed by half of the whipped cream.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  • Top with the remaining whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or nuts.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled. If you have leftovers, store in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap or a lid. Best enjoyed within 2-3 days.
